I can't assume anything anymore after the kiddush revelation :D

Let's tackle this the other way, what's the reason to allow the announcement in middle rather than to point?

Does everyone do 130 total blows?

Announcement would not be a hefsek as its dealing with the inyan.

Never heard of 130 though.

I have never heard of more than 100. How are they split?
There's an extra 30 blown after the day's tehilim and the day's bonus tehilim for Elul-Tishrei in order to confuse the satan and litvaks.

Seems like more of an interruption than BHU"S. Why is it needed?

BHU"S is in middle of a berocho.
Announcement is like asking to pass the salt after washing for Hamotzi.

I'm assume that would be a major issue. We don't talk from the bracha until after musaf.

Thats universal AFAIK

It's needed so the tzibur can know what is coming and what to be mechaven.

Why don't they need to announce before each Berocho of Chazaras Hashatz which Berocho they're going to say so people know what to have in mind?

One) it is not necessary to be mechaven during chazaras hashatz. We are not being yotzeh with the shatz.
Two) tekios are infinitly more confusing and harder to follow.

1. If we're going with that assumption, then we should just skip the whole thing.
2. I was thinking more along the lines of, just like people can look in the Sidur for Chazaras Hashatz, so can they do for Tekios if they wish, (that's what I do).
When did it start?
There are countless letters from the Previous Rebbe, at least as early as the 1920s requesting that it be instituted not just in Chabad shuls but in all Shuls.

Ok so it's 100 years old. Probably the most modern change in the daily prayers that any Jews practice.

I have always heard people say you ask for the salt but people tend to make a shaking motion with their hand.  There's no reason to but that that's what they do.
