I didn't say that r acha is an extra vertle. I meant that the comparison to this is betoras a "vertle"..
I fully understood what you said, and what I am explaining to you is that just like R' Acha cherished every word of R' Kahana, so too do Chassidim cherish every word or הנהגה of the Rebbe, no such thing as a "vertle" יעדער ווארט איז הייליג.

ולהעיר בדרך-אגב, that the following video was with a R' Kahana

Amazing, though I doubt he did נענועים in that sukkah, as he would have to literally be sitting down in order to be מנענע upwards without damaging the lulav.

That is one of the reasons my Sukkah is at least 9 feet high.

Maybe in מחשבה הקדומה דא"ק (or better yet in מקיף דאור חוזר as explained in the maamar העושה סוכתו תחת האילן, which I went through this morning - http://www.chasidut.tv/nd2013/contents.asp?aid=114704), but I definitely had no such intention. This thread was started when I asked my neighbor about the small sukkah, and he explained to me that it is a רעגן סוכה, which I found very unique.

דרך אגב, I was present בשעת מעשה when this video was taken, standing just a couple of feet away. But that doesn't change the fact that posting this video was nowhere in my initial intention.

They suffer from sleeping in the succah because the rebbeh suffered from sleeping in the succah. Therefore they are potur.

Oh, if a chosid happens to not suffer from this, than he suffers from not suffering, and if not, then he suffers from not suffering that he suffers from not suffering etc etc chad gadya.

This is obviously only my limited understanding. I also can only talk about the nigleh part of this...

This whole מצטער thing is for people who don't feel the מקיפין דבינה. All the links and quotes in this thread are all assuming you've looked into that and aren't satisfied with that answer.

The point is that those who sent R' Tzvi Kahana to ask the question are simple בעלי מחלוקת and not בני תורה. The Rebbe clearly says that פרומע אידן cannot be מתנגדים. He brings R Chaim Volozhiner and Chaim Oizer as examples of true תלמידי חכמים who were not Chassidim, yet since they were true בעלי הלכה, never involved themselves in mschlokes and מדון ומריבה, but rather worked hand in hand with נשיאי חב"ד for the benefit of klal Yisroel.

The Rebbe specifically says he is NOT addressing the sleeping in the Sukkah issue. Everyone knows that the Mitteler Rebbe and his father the Alter Rebbe were experts in Halacha, yet they didn't sleep in the Sukkah. That should be sufficient for any true בן תורה!

I will go out on a limb here to suggest that the pleasure a Lubavitcher has from being a Lubavitcher and therefore being mehader to even drink water in the Sukkah when it rains, is greater than any physical צער experienced by the rain.

What does that have to do with sleeping in the sukkah?
