We don't eat before hearing the Shofar. Never realized it was a Chabad thing.
only shofar or before any mitzva waiting to be done? (Eg: lulav, bedikas chametz, etc). Many others don't eat as well but for the same reason they don't eat before davening

We don't eat before lulav as well as any other mitzvah. It's interesting to note that there are sources (in chabad) to put on tefilin and say shema before eating in order to daven on a regular day (although this is not the generally accepted minhag)

This is a thing?
So on a normal Shabbos I'm enjoying my cake before davening and on R"H I'm hungry while everyone who isn't Chabad has the opposite?

Not eating before any mitzvah is a halacha. There are kulas, but one should be careful not to eat a kebeiza.
There's a separate halacha of not eating before davening, קודם שתתפלל על דמכם which would only be before shachris not mussaf

Then why the brake
it's a minhag in Ger, we do it every Shabbos/YT  hour brake after Shachris to learn

I know there are some kulas, especially if there's no mezonos/hamotzi. I just never knew there were established breaks to take advantage of said kulas rather than it being done on an individual level if needed.

Yeshivas like BMG have an official established Kiddush before tekias.

Why is there a mass kula in that situation? Is everyone really eating less than a kezayis??

Kebeiza. Two pieces of cake.
And it was controversial when established, but had become accepted. Mashgiachim didn't want people thinking about did the whole mussaf. Which ends at 3-330

Seems appropriate given that most seem to have the minhag to eat something or have a break for eating, except for Chabad.
Especially ironic as Chabad eats before davening every other day of the year to have more koach for davening...

The way I understood this is that if someone is going to eat before Shofar, the best time to do it is between Shacharis and Shofar. You have to eat more than a Kezayis (in order to be Yotzei Kiddush) but less then a K'Beitza.

You got the Chabad minhag wrong. You need to do what the Alter Rebbe did during the Napoleon war.

Not one bit.

Just like we say קריאת שמע (preferably with תפילין) in the morning before davening, bentch Lulav & Esrog before davening, so too many blow shofar before davening (especially for families with women and children). After being מקיים the מצות עשה דאורייתא, people do eat. Many people would hold off on the Shofar, as they wanted to be yotze with the Rebbe's תקיעת שופר, but since that is unfortunately not an option now, people do blow Shofar before davening.

I believe the same AR mentions something about not blowing till the שעה רביעית, or something along those lines.

In all my years in yeshiva, on bochur shlichus, in a smicha program, and among Chabad communities, I've never seen anyone put on tefilin just to say shma and I've never seen anyone blow shofar in order to eat before davening.

Maybe you do, but clearly those aren't actual minhag chabad for the 99%.
