Preface I'm not trying to start a fight or plain חוצפה , just honestly & simply trying understand

There are lots of Ta'anos that the "בני תורה" have on that but putting that all aside and putting aside the point of those who sent R Kahana was, what I never understood was why he couldn't just answer the question and ג'ענדיק why waste his time with for arguments sake someone who came to argue, for 23 minutes like that...
which honestly I have yet to see a (good) answer anywhere and  just because it was a dvar mefursam that the mittler rebbe did so and supposedly all those rabbis knew about it, 1. who says they never asked? 2. And even if they didn't why can't we ask and know now a days, he wasn't asking the facts he was asking the why it's called להגדיל תורה ולהדירה  not a new concept.
Just answer and send the ''חוצפיניעק" away?
Because the idiot spent a few hours learning the sicha and debating either the bochurim about it before approaching the rebbe on behalf of the baalei machlokes. He wasn't looking for an amswer. He was looking for questions.

What are the דפנות in this סוכה?
Was wondering about that too. In the first and last pic, the דפנות are inside the arches. It's a waist high metal and glass separation.

Advantages of rain in the Sukkah:
  • Greatest weight loss regimen for men.
  • New meaning to spill proof cups.
  • Special quality time for the Aibershter with those that stay in the Sukkah in the rain.

My 10th grade rebbe in PIT Rabbi Deren told us the story of when he was on bochur shlichus in FL.

He was walking in the rain with another bochur and they had umbreallas open. An elderly lady stopped them and asked if they were lubavitcher chassidim. After answering in the affirmative she said that she used to take care of the Rebbe's mother. One day there was a heavy rainstorm and she wasn't able to get milk for her. The Rebbe visited and noticing there was no milk he insisted on going out himself to get milk for his mother. The lady handed the Rabbe an umbrella and the Rebbe smiled and asked why he would possibly want to use something that would seperate himself from one of Hashem's greatest blessings.

The lady never used an umbrella since. And the bochurim closed their umbrellas.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I believe it is a pretty known fact that the Rebbe didn't use umbrellas.

I heard a story from Hirshel Lipsker (br"m) that there was a non-Lubavitcher who used to live on Eastern Parkway between Brooklyn and Kingston, who used to sit in front of his house every morning, waiting for the Rebbe to pass by so he could greet him.

One morning it was pouring rain, and the Rebbe walked to 770 just like every morning, without an umbrella. The Yid called out to the Rebbe "ליובאוויטשער רבי, וואו איז אייער שירעם" to which the Rebbe responded "דער אויבערשטער גיסט גשמי ברכה און איך זאל עס אפשטעלן?!"

A מחיצה is too get closer not to seperate  for example in shul if there are lady's there one can not daven and requires a מחיצה not ח"ו to seperate and send them away but rather to get closer and allow them to come and daven in shul ... just a thought... (e.g. a hot pot from the oven with a mitt, umbrella for rain)

That would be the intention, or context, of a Mechitza in Shul - not the meaning of the word.

Come to Crown Heights tonight for Simchas Beis Hashoeva (until about 12:30am tonight) and you'll get a sincere answer.

My Sukkah is open from right after maariv for as long as people will keep coming. First 20-30 minutes is expected to be crowded with a large crowd from Eretz Yisroel, they just make kiddush, grab a bite and rush back to 770 to get their places for hakofos.
