Rain is siman klalah? In which universe?
Really? This is one of the famous mishnayos in Shas. And is clear from the gemara, reshonim and all the achronim.

Even my understanding of chabads minhag is not to ignore the fact that it is a negative thing when it rains and gd says אי אפשי בשימושך.. for what ever reason y'all still stay though

Nu. What better time to tell stories than when DDMS is on vacation.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Nope. Just traveling like a headless chicken.
You should have traveled via JFK. Less chances of weather issues (not that I would know why LGA would have an issue today) and a Sukkah on premises (probably terminal 4).

Just to put things in perspective: the Ravad held that it's okay to say that hashem has a body....

He does not. Read it again.

General comment to you - it's ok to question why. Especially on a psak, even a hanhaga. It's not at all a stira to emunas chachamim. There is plenty of chassidishe literature that does exactly that.

Not exactly the same, yet somewhat relevant, is in the shiur tanya of these days (presumably cbc should have no problem with this תקנה, as it's not done betzibbur r"l).
Did you post a source that the shulchan oruch harav actually sat/ate/slept in the succa in the rain?

The mishna berura paskens to make 2 brochos on tefillin, 1 for shel yad and 1 for shel rosh. The mishna berura himself only made on the shel yad...

Shu"a harav 114:1 says it's a siman klalah all days of sukkos, and that's why we only ask for rain on shmini atzeres
The same alter rebbe himself like all tzadikim following the baal shem tov) ate in a sukka when it rained AND made a bracha leisheiv basuka (gasp)
Source??

Did you "conveniently" ignore:
But when someone asks whether you found any source that prohibits the minhag you bring an IRRELEVANT opinion. Irrelevant, because as YOU stated only applies if the additionals aren't kosher, which is obviously not the case.
I didn't ignore anything. My initial post on this minhag was that it is totally fine. Just added later that if all of the haddasim are not kosher, I would be more hesitant to say everyone thinks it's totally fine.
I can't imagine that the hamon am taking dozens of haddasim don't include any possul ones.

Is minhag chabad to make a tenay?

There are no sources for eating in the rain. It's a hergesh that chassidim are not mitztaer or won't let physical things make them mitztaer from a mitzvah.
However making a beracha im such a case is highly debatable even amongst chabad.
The rebbe made a beracha in such situations, but many chassidim feel that tzaddikim are different as they truely are not mitztaer. We just try to emulate them.

I thought that's what you were alluding too.

Anyway to be clear, he did not.
