BTW, a little lesson of how we should look at other people (rabim vetovim) even if they do something we believe is kefirah, all the more so when they are being mehader in a mitzvah in a way that makes us uncomfortable because we never studied the topic in the way they were taught it by their poskim. Of course there are, and I'm not even a chabadnik. There's even halachic, non chabad sources given.

The halachik explanation are all non chabad, starting with the munkatcher rebbe, divrei chaim of tzans etc (piskei teshuvos bring a whole list, and from some teshuvos it seems that (for those people) it would be a chiyuv and thus would require a bracha

Maybe you first take a moment to familiarize yourself with minhag Chabad before you make assumptions.

Sefer haminhagim states that we don't add Arovos, but may add Hadassim, and mentions several counts (4, 12, 13, 26). IINM the Rebbe used 26 most years, possibly 36 on a שנה מעוברת, and in the later years.

For years there were very few people who actually added Hadassim (or had more than 4 haddasim). Then in the early 1990s the Rebbe encouraged the practice (and IINM suggested to add at least 3, will post source when I have it available).

Practically, if you look what "hamon haam" does, you'll see that most add a few Hadassim (so they have 6 or more), few have 3 or 4 while maybe 5% of the crowd has 36.

In recent years, I haven't seen Hadassim sold loose. Everybody buys pre sorted, so assuming one can rely on the Hashgochos on the sorting, they are all kosher.

Lol. I just think chabad should distinguish between clear horaos from our rabeeim, and minhagim we have made ourselves, or learnt from Eltere  chassidim and their practices.
Btw, Did you ever ask the Rosh in LA regarding a beracha when raining?

there's quite a jump from not being מין to being a legitimate hashkafa. all he says is the former, not the latter.

he already passuled the source i posted as hearsay from the Rebbe. this is just a lot more hearsay from the Rebb

Leisheiv Basukah made by Kiddush is not on the liquid being drunk, it's on the Seuda which is to follow, which is what makes our custom by Havdallah so peculier.

Do you have any sources/explanations? I have never figured this one out, and stay in the sukkah to have something that would justify a leishev basukkah lechol hadeios.

I believe that this is a fairly common minhag.

I would be in major tzar from eating in a dumpster (even the picture is nauseating) but I very much enjoyed our lebidig rainy meal.
Why is that disturbing?
