Amex reimbursement for referrals

Did someone else get a check with this letter?

I know of 3 people that got recently checks and the attached letter.
We are certain that we already received all the points for the referrals...

First i thought that it has to do specifically with the SPG/Bonvoy card, but one of them got it for MR points.
