Most New Jersey residents can get a cash payment for property tax relief. The payment amount is $1,500 if you are a homeowner or $450 in you are a renter. This is called the ANCHOR benefit program.

NJ has some of the highest property tax rates in the US. Nice of them to "lower" taxes in this backwards way :).

Yes. But most people will get it automatically this time, without having to reapply. Scheduled to come by November 1, which incidentally is a week before the election.
