You can use 135k AA to go on either Elal, AA/Elal, Ba, or Iberia in business.

Being that the only feasible option with BA is Iberia, he's probably better off starting with AA

Personally, I prefer flying with Iberia over a direct Elal.

I cannot speak for him, but they much have better service, and better flights.

I never fly direct when I can avoid it. Walking around an airport for 2-hours is a huge relief on a 12 hour journey (for me). If I can also get to see a city for a day thats a nice bonus.
