[Targeted] Free American Airlines Gold/Platinum Status

I got platinum.  Can someone explain to me how the benefits work(free bags, lounge access and good seats) if I fly a partner airline.  Do I have to book through the aa site or do i book through the partner site (example ba) and put in my aa frequent flyer number.  Which lounge do I get access to the aa or ba lounge in this example.  It said I have sapphire one world status with the platinum but i do not see a sapphire number anywhere.  Please explain to me how it works.

For every 500 miles of your flight you'll need to apply another "500 mile upgrade"
If its 600 miles, 2 are required.

In your case you have 10 of those.

I still can’t figure out how to use the sapphire one world benefit of now being platinum.  When I try to book a flight with Iberia their  basic fare does not allow the sapphire benefits.  The classic fare already allows luggage and seat selection.  Do you get a similar benefit of free main cabin or exit row seats for free as if on  american.  How do you do this online.  Any help would be appreciated.
