Building Business Credit through Duns and Bradstreet
« on: September 06, 2019, 11:02:01 AM »
I was just introduced to the concept of building credit for your business without a social security number but rather with a Duns and Bradstreet paydex number. There are companies such as uline that will allow a net30 line of credit for a new business (with EIN, D-U-N-S number etc.), and in turn report your payment to D&B which can help build a business only credit score within a few months. I canít seem to find any discussion about this on the forums and wanted to hear about peopleís experiences using this method.

overrated IMO, if you need a business loan down the road banks will be taking a close look at your financials regardless of the D&B score.

Its not like a personal score which is the primary factor a bank uses to approve a cc

Banks look at financials because that's what banks do. In business, I have gotten buildings approved for million dollar plus unsecured loans for energy projects by private energy companies billed on their energy bills based solely on their DNB. (BTW, energy project can be very liberally defined and has been used for general improvements as long as some connection to energy can be found)
The thing with the hamster is that running on the wheel is actually what it is trying to do.

Funny, the one time we tried to use it bank didn't care at all. I guess it depends on the industry or the lender.

My point exactly. It is also used extensively for credit for purchasing.
