According to a source in El Al I spoke to today, it will be doing a special route over Israel upon arrival next Sunday, making the flight about an hour and a half longer than the regular route. There will be some sort of "chagigah" on board, and my understanding was that there's going to be additional celebration after landing.
This flight is unique that it can ONLY be booked with Matmid points (over the phone), and there's zero additional taxes charged.

How did I give that impression?

Quote
El Al’s jumbo 747 carried over 400 passengers from JFK to Tel Aviv for years. It recently flew its last flight on that route without fanfare.
The final El Al 747 flights will be from Tel Aviv to Rome on November 1, with the return from Rome to Tel Aviv on November 3. Will you book travel on these flights? Nothing will be as fun as the United 747 retirement flight that I took to Hawaii a couple years ago.

No mention of anything unordinary on those final LY flights.

Most likely - but at the same time I don't even think they have proper PR team etc in Israel

"This morning I was given special access to see her before tomorrow’s special farewell flight to Rome."
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

He always does with lots of companies, and I follow him just for 2 months. Ppl are tagging him when an aircraft pass overhead carrying him, he's a legend.

It's very rare at LY these days. Officially it's forbidden (I've asked for myself many times - and I'm a good client). So he got good protectia. I have friends who manage to be let in because they know the pilot personally but that's usually the only case

I’ve been let in on the way to NY with my son and was even allowed to photograph it.

I saw it now - interesting https://www.instagram.com/tv/B4X1ojshZmm/

But this guy seemed to have access during landing which I would assume was a special privilege for him
