AA and Etihad Now Full Partners
« on: October 19, 2011, 08:12:42 AM »
In the last while AA has been in the works of adding Etihad as one of their partners.

Now, AA miles can be redeemed on all Etihad flights.

Their First Class is known as one of the best in the world and availability is pretty decent so its an awesome addition to AA.

Sign up for Etihad Guest and you can search availability. AA should be mirror the availability found.

Signed up but I think that they don't fly to TLV. Why not? If its such a good airlines then they would fly there.

Maybe Dan can help....

I spoke to Dan who told me that he spoke to the CEO and he said that all they are starting jfk-tlv because of all the dansdeals readers who are going to redeem aa miles to fly premium cabins, since it is such a moneymaker.

Unfortunately a flight to MLE requires an overnight in AUH both ways :(

Funny how Gary says "Like four first class award seats on a single flight New York JFK – Abu Dhabi and onward in business class for the short flight o Male"  Sure it's a short flight, but what about the 10-14 hour layovers each way?

Seychelles (SEZ) also requires 11-15 hour layovers each way.

90K Y/135K J/180K F for those wondering.

Works great from Oz, at least on the outbound.

Return MLE/SEZ-AUH make pretty bad times to connect.

That's what's great about one way awards.

Good value for TLV-AMM-AUH-MLE ( 50 k in business roundtrip), but long layover in AUH.

This is really interesting.
Being that EY doesn't publish a routing from the US to MLE, it prices as two awards JFK-AUH and AUH-MLE
