Continental Reward Flight Standby

I have a Continental Reward Flight from Newark to TLV in Aug, can I try to get on an earlier flight by showing up in the airport?

Date/time changes to award tickets are free if the new flight is available for the same mileage.

Confirmed standby is $50 otherwise:
