Doing massive amount of applications and not being denied because of them. Also having them being used as a BS excuse only to be approved on recon. People spend way to much time worrying about inquires instead using that time to improve their credit profile.

I don't as I have a long credit profile and inquires mean nothing to it.

Write to Citi requesting them to provide a letter saying the inquire was made by mistake. Provide that letter to the CRA's.
You can also just dispute directly with the CRA's but that usually gets no where.
