Risk using a Delta vouchers after getting points?
« on: May 02, 2011, 09:25:11 AM »
back in september I had some issue with Delta. they them gave me a credit of $50 in form of a voucher. Since the vouchers don't have such good conditions, after they expire after a year and are only valid thru their own website, and most of the times you don't earn miles using them. so I called and requested to convert that into points. they did so.
Later I noticed that the vouchers are still active, so I assumed that the points didn't go thru. i sent them a message, and the reply was:

Thank you for contacting us. On behalf of Delta Air Lines, I appreciate
the opportunity to be assistance with the bonus miles request.

Our record show that both the vouchers are suspended and the bonus miles
have been added the respective account. Please know that 7,500 bonus
miles are added on April 05, 2011 to each of your account.

I thank you again for writing and giving us the opportunity
to be of assistance regarding the voucher.  As a valued SkyMiles member,
your business is important to us and given the opportunity of serving
you in the future, I am confident Delta will not only meet but exceed
your expectations

Sincerely,

Nancy P. Hall
Coordinator, Customer Care
Delta Air Lines/KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

but, in fact the vouchers are alive, do you think it will be a risk using them?

chances are shortly after you'd complete your purchase, you'd get an email that they weren't active.
but if the ticket goes thru, what's the issue? if they wanna 'punish' u, just say u thought they were active....

sorry to be the one... but if Delta indeed compensated you in a different way, why are you doing this?

Let me tell you one thing. It's not the forum here to describe Delta, you could view all their nastiness etc. on www.dontflydelta.com and a lot of other sites.
In my particular case, I had a loss thru their lack of service of a whole piece of luggage, valuing more than $2000. there was definitely no talk that this was their fault, and they even agreed on that. But, when it came to compensation they gave a jokey $50 voucher. Thats Delta.
Therefore you could understand that i'll do everything to get most out of them, to get paid back in small portion.
