Does anyone know if there is a way to transfer amex mr points into aa advantage miles without losing too much ?

I know it works through amex, continental, amtrak, choice, aa advantage but i would only get 15,000 AA for 25,000 MR points...

Anyone have any better ideas ?

Not possible.
You would have to trade AMEX points for someone else's Starpoints to get AA miles.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

OLD THREAD...But, it is the exact topic i was looking for.

Does it still work to transfer amex - CO - Amtrak - Choice - AA? (assuming you sign up for the choice cc...)
It seems for 100k amex, i can get 60k AA (assuming this still works).

I was thinking of doing this to try and hit 1 MM on AA before it goes under.

If i need 180K AA to hit 1MM, wouldnt it make sense to transfer this route. I would use 300k amex (worth about $5000) and end up with 180k AA (worth about $2500) plus lifetime gold. So id basically be spending $2500 on lifetime gold.

1) Does this still work?
2) Is it worthwhile?

$2500, that's a lot of free bags...

Don't you have any SPG?

Amtrak won't let you transfer that many points out.

If you buy AA miles from AA it'll cost just over 2 cents (with bonus). Max 40k.
