I wonder if Uber software also has the ability to turn off the battery feature to lay low temporarily and then turn it back on in a couple months. 

Then again, this link says the picture going around is Bolt, not Uber.

That's NOW an urban legend, they probably did but once they were caught of course they are going to deny it

Didn't Google block apps from viewing your battery level in a recent Google Play API level for this reason?

I wonder if this is really true going to take a phone that has a low battery under 10% and a phone that has 80% and see if there's really a difference.
  Or some other people here try that as well.

Again, the video clip above says it wasn't Uber, it was BOLT and it was outside the US.  Can anyone outside the US try BOLT and verify? 

Even if Uber were doing it, I can't imagine they would commit suicide by continuing the practice at this time.
