First hand experience - Nissan Altima SL 2008; bought brand new. Had 135k miles and it's transmission died last month. Trans repair from the dealership is $4500 all in with only a 12-month/12k miles warranty,  so basically useless.
Another case - my BIL had a 2016 Altima with 65k miles, had the same issue in July.

I researched about the issue and the internet has hundreds of complaints of failed transmission on the Altima. Basically CVT doesn't last long and they don't make them good anymore.

Thé issue is not CVT engine, as Subaru has the BEST CVT engine out there.
The issue is simply Nissan !

That's a bit overpriced, especially when using the stealership!
