Jet blue mosaic
« on: September 24, 2019, 12:42:14 PM »
I have a brother in law that has mosaic
He booked a flight for him, me and my wife (my baby is a lap child) so I'll get the perks
So my brother in law doesn't plan on traveling, he only booked his flight so I get the mosaic perks
Will I be able to put my baby in his seat? At boarding I should scan my brother in laws ticket?

Risky...

Best strategy would be to checkin online and for just one adult to check in bags.
Scan all 3 tickets and use the seat for the lap child.

People have had their mosiac revoked for this.

It is illegal to impersonate a Traveller, so scanning his boarding pass is a bad idea.

Yup, super risky even if you cancel your BIL.

That's what I was asking

We're checking in online, i was just wondering about when we board, if his ticket isnt scanned, will they let us use the seat for the baby, or will they even give the seat away to someone on standby?

So at boarding do I scan my babies ticket or my bil's ticket?

To answer your question, if the boarding pass isn't scanned, the seat would be subject to be given to whomever is on standby. It could also subject the mosaic account to scrutiny for a no show.

Scanning it is the better idea in that respect, but as I said, the consequences of using someone else's boarding pass are worse if you are caught.

You can call jetblue they allow the purchase of an extra seat for a passenger already booked on the flight they may require that seat to be canceled and rebooked, what benefits do you expect to get from being booked on a mosaic account? the only benefit you can keep without the mosaic member flying is the ability to cancel the tickets for a credit.

The benefit was that we were able to buy a cheap flight and change it to any airport and free suitcases

How does the change benefit work? No difference in fare?

Since the boarding pass won't be scanned by security, would the airline notice?

Let's make this simple.

-If you don't scan the BP, JetBlue will bill you and/or terminate the Mosaic account.
-If you try to checkin with the 3 of you, the agent will get suspicious and raise a reg flag.
-If you do online checking and have just one person checkin bags, and tell TSA the baby's name is the Mosaic members name, and hand over the 3 boarding passes to be scanned at the gate, the odds are that it will go OK. But if you are busted you could be in trouble with both JetBlue and the law.
-If you want to be safe, stop trying to scam JetBlue and cancel the mosaic's ticket now.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

Not if you cancel before using Mosaic benefits you're not entitled to.
