I upgraded to Bonvoy Brilliant and now have $450 annual fee that just doesn't feel worth it.  Can I use by $300 credit for this year and then cancel right away (within 30 days of fee posting), which would trigger a refund of the annual fee?  Or will it be clawed back?

You don't think you will spend $300 in dining/takeout this year?

It's not my regular card, and I don't feel like spending $450 now and then having to remember to use it every time I buy food from a restaurant, which I don't do often as it is.

It would take me 6 months to spend if I don't change my spending habits...

Yes, but apparently I got a retention offer about a year ago.

Back to my question.  If I use (or all) or my $300 benefit now, and then cancel the card in a week or so, (which would trigger a refund of the annual fee), will the $300 benefit credits be clawed back?

I paid the prorated annual fee when I upgraded last year, don't know if that's a relevant point or not.
