Does anyone see Delta investing in enough airlines to eventually create their own new "alliance"?

Since Delta already launched their partnership with Latam on April 1st and AA's doesn't terminate till end of April, you can effectively book Latam flights using both AA miles and Delta miles as overlap for the remainder of this month.
