Question for the experts

Before I got my first card 10 years ago, my mother added me as an AU on her AMEX to help build my credit.
Because it's not my account I don't use the card. Is that hurting my credit score? If yes, would it be better to close the card? Or would that be worse because my credit line won't date as far back?

Leave the account alone as long as your mother is always current with the card.
