You need to browse to a specific folder, I think it's called 'iPod-control' or something like that.
ok found it but now what?

Is it on automatic sync with another computer? If it is you would have to click on manual sync.
no

In there there should be a folder called 'music' or something similar (it might be within another folder) and it'll have all the audio files (music) on the iPod.

Thanks ashero [you're a true (as)"hero"]! But maybe you know why this happened, so that I won't have this problem again? (also, I had downloaded a lot of songs from a different ipod and it wouldn't play on my ipod, although when I opened the file on windows explorer it was there?) Thanks for your help in the matter.

Guys, can anybody further assist me please, I lost a lot of songs on my ipod for a reason I don't know it just disappeared! but b''h I found the songs on a folder in the ipod through explorer (through the help of the forum!). but the folder icon is in the "lighter shade", not allowing me to transfer from them back to the ipod. Try dragging and dropping the files into iTunes. If not, try sharePod of ephPod.

I tried that but the folders icon are all like light shaded gray, nothing transfers over from the folders. Now just a new thing happened nothing on the ipod was working even songs that I had on it, it would be showing me now playing but it wouldn't play, it would stay by 00:00. So now I restored the ipod and downloaded whatever I had in itunes (which isn't too much). But I still want to download my old songs which I had in my ipod in those folders you were talking about, I tried they were there but wouldn't transfer over. Any ideas please, thank you so much!

Just fond my old 80GB iPod video which surprisingly seems to still be in excellent condition. It has tons of stuff on it (close to 80GB worth) What's my best way to get my old songs and videos from it?

Try iDump. There is a trial version available i think. Easy as pie and have your songs backed up in any format you like; MP3 WMA etc.

I used to use Floola to manage music and videos on my Ipod classic. I recently got a refurbished model, and it doesn't seem to be working - any suggestions for why it doesn't work, or other good options?
