What do you mean they called back to reinstate? They are allowing you to keep the low rate reservation? Did you originally allow them to cancel?

Do you know of a phone number to reach them at?

I ignored the first call saying they couldn't honor it. I got another call saying they changed their mind and are honoring it. Just call the original number they left you. I may have it on my VM if you can't find it.

You always pay surcharges when flying BA and any other partner except AA (route and agent dependent) and LAN.

I wanna call back and confirm that my booking is still good but if I can negotiate a point credit instead I would take that. Dunno if I really wanna go. Points in the bag sounds better to me.

p.s. Can I take you up on the offer to find the phone number. I lost it.

after doing more research, I don't think it's worth going down there. The hotel looks kind of scuzzy and cancun doesn't look like such a nice place to visit. Any counter opinions?

Indeed it doesn't make sense.

They actually just called me and I tried mentioning points. She never heard of anything about that.

She told me that I have 2 consecutive bookings and they will honor both. The only problem is that somehow I left a gap of one day in my reservation (Dec 8-11 and 12-15 I think) and to fill it I would need to pay regular rate. Minor issue if I decide to actually go - which is doubtful.

She provided me with a call back number in case anyone else needs it: 8009679182 ask for Patty

BTW I doubt that many people are really going (I doubt I will go through with it), the odds of a DD Minyan is slim. Chabad is probably your best bet.

has anyone actually gone to the hotel? I booked it for chol hamoed sukkot and already have my flight.  curious if anyone has any tips about the hotel/whats around it.  already checked out the cancun master thread and nobodys written anything.

If anyone knows who they were or is interested themselves in staying there Dec. 1st to the 12th PM me. As a side note I'm not looking to make any profit I will just be cancelling the room in 4 days if no one is interested...
