Does it make any sense that a VS flight is showing up on partners but no award space on virgin itself?

I spoke to them on the phone but they just told me sorry there's no availability, nothing we can do.

Yes, easily phantom. Quite common. Also common that it is available just not online, by phone it is. but if they say not available…
