bourbon and scoth are totally different
they are made with different ingredients and in a different process
it is a totally different type of drink so it has to be a different choice

As are beer, araq, rum, liquor etc. etc.

yeah but rum tequila and araq etc are not considered big time drinks on the level of scotch, vodka, and bourbon- those are the big three and the rest besides beer are secondary level

I have friends who are into beer much more than most people on this site are into scotch/vodka/bourbon...

Scotch is definitly my favorite. the best (IMHO) I ever tasted was the Glen Ord. In 2004, I went with a couple of friends on a weeklong whiskey tour in Schotland. Best week of my life

One day we got lost and stumbled upon the Glen Ord Distillery. It was not on our list but deceided to visit it. The rest is history... anyone up for a whiskey tour ??!!
