My wife and I rarely travel. I have been trying to book a car and am finding it difficult.
Pickup is at Austin Texas Airport at 600 on 06NOV19
Dropoff is at New Orleans Airport at 1800 on 09NOV19
On major booking sites, cost is around 550. When we use VPN in Norway cost goes to 280 with Alamo. When reading the fine print it says "must have driver license from outside USA" We both have Israel Passport but only WA/CA Driver License.
On Hertz, cost is around 280 with pickup from a HLE in Austin, TX. I have already made and cancelled 3 different bookings after realizing that my CDP is not valid (unable to modify/cancel booking and after doing a separate dummy reservation). I have found a convention code (CV051C0005) that has provided a large discount. I fear using a CDP because I have heard that they keep the invalid ones in the reservation so they can charge you full price at the counter.
We have Israel Passport, USA Passport, Visa Card, AAA, AOPA, University if Washington ID, Hertz Gold Rewards
Please, any help or legitimate codes would be appreciated as we do not want to overpay.
