hajdu

Just put in advance order for a case of Hajdu that  will arrive September 2017. I've tried two of his wines, the 2013 Red Proprietary and the 2014 Sangiovese. They were both very good, the Proprietary is one of the best wines I've ever had. Got 2 as a gift and aging the second one for a few years (I have a wine cooler). Where can I buy Hajdu wine in NY? I looked at his website and for 2 bottles the shipping is over $70. Insane!

I found it at Skyview Wines in Riverdale. Hajdu only ships from him directly. But its so weird that even his shipping to Los Angeles was over $60 for 2 bottles.

missed you last night at Shirah H+H event.

There was enough food to fatten even the biggest eater.. sandwiches galore rolling out all night

I did learn that not every one likes brodeux, its an elegant wine that has controlled nose and body... you have to enjoy aroma and structure in context.. its more of a combination french old world and new world bold.

But with that said, a lot of people loved Shirah's GESHEM, Sawyer lindquist Syrah, Pinot Noir, Taanat etc..

We had 3 days of shirah where I tasted over 30 different wines they made.. insane!

Bump. Anything less than $100?

Shiloh - Mosaic, Legend, Secret Reserve.
Herzog - Napa Valley Cab, Chalk hill reserve

Herzog and Shiloh are really the only ones making top quality mevushal... something that is actually a cause for debate in the kosher wine world.. purists argue that the wines are better off being non mevushal, decrying mevushal as an evil, wineries claim that mevushal is a necessity and that the fact is these wines are just as good.

Robert Parker awarded Shiloh Legend Mevushal a 91... that is like, most non kosher wineries could only dream of a 91

In a blind tasting, few can tell the difference, maybe some of the most advanced developed palates.

Herzog also has a wine from Padis vineyards called Brilliance, its mevushal now although they are coming out with a mevushal and non mevushal option soon.

I think The Cave is overrated. Id stick with Herzog and Shiloh.

There are a few mevushal french options, le clare, tour de seran, le crock, rollen de by, they are OK to Good, in this case the non mevushal flagship wine Haut Condissas easily towers above them.

A general word of advice on this forum: never say "You've never tasted, experienced, or done anything close". People have done some pretty extreme things here.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.
