2nd of Nissan 5781/ March 15 2021

Nice, the second line is the secular date: 1 for the last digit of year (2021), and 075 for 75th day of the year, 3/15.

Aged soda “wine” :D :D

As per Google - the 75th day of the year would be 03/16 - which would in turn be 3 Nissan.....

For those drinking Rose, I started this summer.  Matar, for under $25 a bottle, is, I think, a great bank for your buck.

And Malvasia is usually $10 by the case.

Maybe it was after Shkiya :P

Seriously speaking, there’s possibly a placeholder for 2/29 for consistency’s sake, so 075 is always 3/15 even if it’s a leap year.

I don't know if they sell it in the US, but the wine i think is one of the best is Ohr HaGanuz. The different types go from 50/60 Shekel until 100 or so ($15-$30).

Yes they sell in the US. Online Kosher Wine has 28 varieties - https://onlinekosherwine.com/shop/?_producer=or-haganuz

Anyone know/notice much of a difference between Malvasia and Brachetto? I need to get sweet red wine for the Seder for some of the attendees and they are looking for something like blue bottle but in a red. I previously used Teal Lake Red Moscato but that is not in production and have also used red Joyvin, but am looking for info on these options.

Based on jj1000's request, I added this thread.

I'll let you share your opinions, then I'll post mine (don't want to influence anyone :P)
I don't like most wines. I can only swallow wines that don't require someone to acquire a taste for it. Something like Bartenura Moscato.
My Tapatalk notifications don't always work.

+1

Definitely sold in the US. (Why do they have Vegan Friendly symbol?)
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

If your question is based on the assumption that all wines are Vegan, that is not necessarily the case. Some (non-kosher) wines use isinglass (which is made from fish) in the filtering process.

I never knew that.

I was wondering where's the value in paying and pandering to the Vegan crowd.

It helps get the wines into the general market.

Malvasia is lighter in body then the Brachetto.
Tabor also makes a great red moscato.

I also found this to be the case. (Pun not intended.) I like the Malvasia but stopped seeing it in EY, and I don't like the Brachetto at all. (Certainly not for 50 shekel a bottle!)

The lightest and least sweet bubbly red (that isn't actually semi-dry), from those I've tasted, is Carmel Buzz. Just make sure to get the ones that are 100% wine.

What about Teperberg Red Moscato? I've had the white in the cut crystal bottle and the red looks the same. It certainly would be less than 50 shekel a bottle, IIRC I bought the white for around 30 when I was there in January.

Tepperberg sells the sweetest Moscato (IMHO). For Purim you should drink as dry as possible if you will be imbibing any large quantity.
