Its hard for 1 person to be 20%. It's either 0 or 100%.
If yungermanchik knows 5 women, and 1 woman likes that heavy stuff, 100% of that 1 woman is 20% of the 5 women.
If biobook knows 100 women and 80 of them like that heavy stuff, then 100% of those 80 women = 80% of the 100 women.
Yungermanchik's vote and biobook's vote combined equals 50%. This is a very flawed way to collect stats and you shouldn't expect anything remotely accurate.

ETA don't expect a woman to limit "the women you are most knowledgeable about" to "Wife, Mother, Daughters."

The poll was about women who you would know the most about, i.e. have the Seudos/Seder with, grew up with, etc. etc. We all know many women; co-workers, clients, neighbors, and wives of friends. But we generally don't know what their preference is for wine. Its hard to imagine that people voted more or less because they once sat next to a woman by a hotel Shabbos meal and saw that she downed a whole bottle of "heavy stuff" ;).

Anyways, the poll was extremely informative in telling that family's generally go one way. 2/3 of people polled 0-20% (mostly 0%) and 1/3 polled more than 50%. And there was not much middle ground. As an aside, I feel that something is strange because this is much higher than the general western population. Meaning that either Frum women who drink, drink more wine than other alcoholic drinks or that people voted 50% or more because they wanted to mess with the poll.

What do you think about the outcome of the poll?

GIGO
I've been called soooo many names over this whole conversation (and others) and insulted so many times that it reminds me of being in first grade again.

Now I don't mind insults and names, as long as their backed up with proof. I've yet to have 1 person back up his/her assumptions with any data or even personal experiences. Just because someone lives in their little bubble it doesn't mean that the whole world is like them...

If anyone has anything logical to say, even if you want to throw in a name or an insult with it, go ahead. I'm happy to learn new things (and many other people are as well). But lets stop with the immature responses. Please.

One important differentiation to make in discussions that turn argumentative is attacks on the opinion holder vs critiques on the opinion. As has been explained ad nauseam, the "poll" heibt nit on fun onheib for obvious reasons. When someone says GIGO about *the formulation of the poll*, that is not a personal attack against you, it isn't calling you names, and certainly isn't immature. A forum member lacking the ability to make that differentiation, on the other hand, makes for some pretty immature discussion.

And its hard to have more than 10-12 unless you come from an all girl family and are older with many daughters...

I can think of more than 25 adult women of whom I know their wine preferences, likely more if I thought about it for a minute. I don't have an adult daughter, I have 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

One year on merkos shlichus, my chavrusah and I had 4 cups of black muscot when doing our person seder after the main one.

We didn't get trashed but lets just say that 4 cups one after another did make us very joyous (and still have great memories for that walk back to our lodgings).

The trick lies in getting the right size cups. My son will hear nothing of it, but I stick to small cups שיעור הגרא"ח נאה.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I don't look at this thread for a while, and I come back to see that this nonsense "conversation/argument" is still going on...

1) Biobook didn't say that GIGO was about the formation of the poll.
2) I never said that biobook was attacking me
3) Biobook is an adult and can answer by herself
4) Please state the obvious reasons that the poll is "heibt nit on fun onheib"
5) If i put up the poll and you say its "heibt nit on fun onheib" than yes, its an insult to me. Now I'm ok with that but please back up your insults with facts. Remember, the poll is not scientific, like its stated, but is to get a general idea of the Frum community. It does that.
6) And lastly, Yehuda57, if there's a group of people on DDF who insult people right and left, you are part of them. Not that you don't have a lot of good to say. You do. But there's other opinions and ways of doing things out there and just because it doesn't fit into your worldview it doesn't mean that they are wrong. Try to convince people instead of putting them down.

I can think of more than 25 adult women of whom I know their wine preferences, likely more if I thought about it for a minute. I don't have an adult daughter, I have 4 sisters and 4 brothers.
Correct, that's why the the poll is for "mothers, wives, sisters and daughters" so you have 6 women who go into the poll.

Apparently you've never heard of GIGO before, but it's never used as an insult, it always refers to the quality of the data input/processing.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Trying to find a red, non-mevushal, non-sweet, low alcohol (<10%) wine. Does such a thing even exist?

Kedem Matuk is not that sweet, but it's not dry either. Not sure what it's officially categorized as.

4 cups of concord grape or of Malaga is for the elte zaida who bites directly into a whole horseradish root.

Apparently you've never heard of GIGO before input/processing.
Same, but I was taught GIYF, so I asked Google Home what that means and I was told "garbage in, garbage out."
I.e., if the poll is requesting data in a very inaccurate manner, the data is garbage, as is the result.

@Moshe Green - I take it that you disagree with my opinion about the data being flawed. I tried explaining it a few times, I don't think explaining it again will convince you to agree with me. So let's agree to disagree.
