If you're referring to late harvest zinfandel/reisling, then I'd consider those dessert wines.

ok could be
i usually just make kiidush on it and then switch to bourbon after so dont have much taste in wines though i think they would be considered a normal wine and not dessert

Fine/Dry Wine is one drink I just haven't been able to acquire a taste for.
For me it's Moscato all the way.

when i want to make my wife happy i use moscato
though a rapper (woka flaka) sings about moscato and at the hot97 concert in the summer the last page of the program was a full page ad for moscato thought that was quite funny

Baron Herzog Cabernet Sauvignon Jeunesse.

Cheap and surprisingly tasty.

Baron Herzog Cabernet Sauvignon Jeunesse.

I think the red Jeunesse and the Herzog Black Muscat are good 'beginner' wines for those who are ready for the semi-dry stuff.

Beginner I am... I already have a few expensive hobbies. Hardly need to work up the appetite (or thirst) for another :P

Dry wine all the way.  Baron Herzog Alexander Valley Cabernet, The Cave, The Red C, all some amazing bottles I've had.

I actually do like Black Muscat. Had it first at the Herzog winery.
Maybe there's hope for me yet?

Absolutely. I'm trying to think of other wines you should try, maybe Or Haganuz's Merom (it's a semi-sweet (officially anyway) Cab/Merlot blend), and perhaps one of the lighter Yugavs. Also try late harvests, like the Herzog Late Harvest Zinfandel (I seem to remember one with a pink label, probably a different vintage).

1st. thanx for this thread.
2nd. Maybe we don't want to share our opinions yet as not to influence you...
3rd. People should rate a wine 1-10 and also list the price when posting.
4th. IMHO the vast majority of people who say they hate dry wines is because they never learned how to properly drink it. For example the 5 S's 1. Swirl in your cup. 2. Smell. 3. Sip. 4. Swish in your mouth (breath in through your nose when the wine is in the back of your mouth or through your lips while the wine is in the front of your mouth). And 5 swallow. I am just saying how I drink dry wine. I'm sure everyone has there own way or can post a link to wikipedia for a more acurate and proper description...

+1 It is good and in Monsey it is only $10 a bottle. Also for a dry red Peraj Petit is delicious and only cost $15

I can't comment on the former but I can confirm the latter.  Record setting amount of RTMs though in just a few minutes I must say.
