1st. thanx for this thread.
2nd. Maybe we don't want to share our opinions yet as not to influence you...
3rd. People should rate a wine 1-10 and also list the price when posting.
4th. IMHO the vast majority of people who say they hate dry wines is because they never learned how to properly drink it. For example the 5 S's 1. Swirl in your cup. 2. Smell. 3. Sip. 4. Swish in your mouth (breath in through your nose when the wine is in the back of your mouth or through your lips while the wine is in the front of your mouth). And 5 swallow. I am just saying how I drink dry wine. I'm sure everyone has there own way or can post a link to wikipedia for a more acurate and proper description...

1. YW
2. Please influence my opinion (by reminding me of a wine I liked but don't remember, or by introducing me to a new one I'll like).
3. Ratings are ok IMHO, so long as people understand they are personal (YMMV). Prices depend on where you shop (the same bottle that's on special at MB Vineyards for $16 can easily be $30+ at Eber's)
4. Isn't the 5th s Spit out? :P Seriously, I just sip wine and I'm ok :)

That was actually funny :P

Seriously, though, if the rules direct users to a certain medium through which to address moderated comments, shouldn't that medium address that issue?

Semi beginner here.
I drink mainly semi-dry wines hoping to graduate but so far I still dont appreciate the finer wines.
One wine i have lately become fond of but because of the price I save it for Y"T and special occasions is the Baron Herzog Special Reserve Jeunesse Cabernet Sauvignon Napa County.
http://www.liquorsgalore.com/wines/baron-herzog-jeunesse-cabernet-sauvignon-reserve-napa-county.html

I find it is a more "mature" version of a semi dry wine (or thats what I convince myself)  :)

Some of the wines I enjoy;
Rashi Black Muscat
Jeunesse cab or black muscat
Shachar semi-dry red
Gabrielle Dolcemente

I tried it once, It was not bad. However I fund the regular Jeunesse to be much better and it is half the price. Also, it it not mevushal

Best wine I ever had was from a small/medium size company in Napa Valley called Hagafen. The "Prix" is simply out of this world! Quite pricey (if I remember correctly it was in the $50-$60 range) They only produce about 200 or so cases of each unique harvest. They have won all sorts of awards and even catered the wine at some White House parties IIRC. First tried this while helping the Shliach in Napa at their wine tasting and have been helpessly in love with fine wines since!

I enjoy some Herzogs but they're a little run-of-the-mill for my taste ;) (wow, that sounded way snobbier in writing than I intended!)

Prix is defiantly the best wine I have ever had. I am really bad with names so I can only tell you wines that I have had recently... A wine That was relatively cheap and very enjoyable is Kadesh Barnea Merlot Reserve '04. It is dry but at the same time it was the sweetest (in a berry sort of way) Merlot I have ever had. Also in general Teal Lake makes good wines (they have a very smooth and simple taste for those who want to try 1st time dry wines). I like there Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot although there Moscoto doesn't come close to Bartenura's...
