I posted the letter they sent me

Dear Bubbles,

I am writing in response to your e-mail regarding the sign
up bonus offer inquiry on your Chase Sapphire account
ending in xxxx.

I would first like to take this opportunity to personally
thank you for choosing Chase to handle your account. As
per the offer on your account, you will receive 50,000
Chase Sapphire bonus points after spending $3,000.00 in
purchases within 93 days of account open date. These
points have already posted to your account and can be
redeemed immediately.

In reviewing the open date on the account, I regret to
advise that the account is not qualified to participate in
the new enrollment promotion of 10,000 points for adding
authorize user and therefore we are unable to honor your
request.

With the continual changes and promotional offers for many
credit card products we at Chase will always consider
allowing the newest promotion to be applied to any
qualified accounts that were opened within the previous 90
days of the offer.

Although we appreciate your loyalty, we ask that you trust
that this decision is the same for all members whose
accounts do not fall within this designated time frame. We
feel that adhering to the same policy for all members
outside of this designated time frame is the best way to
remain fair and consistent.

I wish to inform you that we have received the
notification to add the authorized user to your account.
I wish to inform you that the 10,000 bonus points will
post to the account six to eight weeks after the person
has been added to the account as an authorized user.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the

are you are thinking of the fact that not all banks will take your status as an AU into real consideration when you apply for a cc? AFAIK it doesn't make a difference which card you are AU on though.

Isn't there a difference between "Additional User" and "Authorized User"? At least there is for American Express cards? I added 10 additional users on my American Express cards (not authorized) and it had no effect on my report.

it doesn't affect your report. it affects theirs
