Magellan Maestro 4210 - GPS Recommendations
« Reply #5 on: July 01, 2008, 04:56:24 AM »
Any recommendations for a GPS Unit in the Price Range of $175 USD.

I was considering the Magellan 4210, Can I get some advice what people know about this device or some other good ones.  What is important to me is the ability to have US & Canada MAps on the Device.

Thanks In Advance.

I've tried 'em all and at this point would never consider anything besides a nuvi (with text-to-speech, of course).

I would appreciate if someone can help me out here. I travel a lot to different countries. I'm looking to buy a good GPS that I can take with me whenever I go and could be used internationaly in many countries. Does anybody have any good recommendations? Price is not an issue. I just want that it should be reliable and good. And most importantly that it should work in the different countries I travel to.

keep in mind, there are places online you can find different maps and add them to the various GPS systems... try searching see what comes up... though I doubt they're legit...

If someone can be so kind to let me know what is the best GPS that can accurately re-route you due to traffic conditions (live traffic), I would greatly appreciate it.

« Reply #14 on: October 03, 2008, 03:30:20 PM »
Im looking for a GPS.. nothing too fancy, would like to spend under $200.

I see all over the place Garmin 350 as the highest rated.  and its now only around $170

im just nervous cause it came out 3 years ago....

will it come with the new maps or am going to have buy it for $80 ???? (and makes it not a bargain after all)

any other recomandations??

they give you an option after you register to check if you qualify for a free upgrade which you should if you don't have latest maps and you just bought it. they ask you if you want to download it for free or get a cd mailed to you for ten dollars. good luck

I know many people who are very happy with the Garmin Nuvi 650. It is a widescreen model which also has text-to-speech. I personally am getting the Garmin Nuvi 755t. It is widescreen, has text-to-speech, free lifetime traffic (ad-supported, although I don't mind since this is the main feature I need - especially driving in the tri-state area), and Lane Assist which is useless but nevertheless cool.

If you don't need the text-to-speech, the 200w is a nice model as well.
