You are right about the savings of getting a laptop from the US, but you must add a few things.

1) You'll have to add Hebrew letters if you want to type in Hebrew
2) If something goes wrong you'll have a hard time returning it/cashing in on your warranty
3) The plug will be American and not Israeli
4) Little things that you may be able to take to the guy you bought it from in Israel for free, if you buy it from the us, you'll be paying
5) You'll be supporting Amazon and not a Jew (especially in midst of a war)
6) There's more of a chance of it getting stolen/lost/damaged
7) And lastly, you'll be waiting for it to arrive instead of getting it right away.

Officially the warranty is no longer voided internationally, but companies like HP will make you send it back to the states. ASUS will send you a box and the computer will have to go to Taiwan. Lenovo once told me no, but another time they said I could take it to Petach Tikva and they would fix it. Toshiba A"H let you take it to a local tech and they paid.
If the problem is immediate, though, you can send it back to Amazon and usually convince them to cover the shipping. At least this was my experience.

3) Replace the plug when it comes in two pieces. When it comes in one piece, if it is USB-C just get an IL version, if not, it's a cheap computer and almost the same price here. Agav, I tell this to anyone I see using that plug-changer piece at the end of a US version - you kill the power box and you kill the battery unless the fit is perfect. No one should be using those on a laptop charger - get a native plug.
4) That cheshbon depends on how much you save to start with. I seldom advise getting cheap computers from the US because the price difference isn't worth the bother (unless it is, in which case this doesn't matter).

I am able to get in almost any computer that my supplier has in 2-3 business days. Amazon, you'll wait 2 weeks and then if there's an issue your waiting another month...
