So we're going away this shabbos to the westin villas in rancho mirage. we already have 2 rooms and need a 3rd. problem is that spg.com and the main reservation line is showing sold out for both nights. any ideas to try to secure another room?
dates: 11/4 - 116.

I believe guaranteed availability for plats is rack rate so it may be pretty expensive.

Friday they have for $209, but shabbos they're oversold and as a resort they don't have to give plats guaranteed availability.

i see the 209 rate also (only for the resort not the villas). it goes down to 188 for aaa member
i will keep monitoring to see if something becomes avail for the 5th.
i cant book 1st night now bec any cancellations requires forfeit, i believe

Plat can get 209 for the villas as well.

I never hurts to call. I would try calling the hotel directly and explaining the situation

Did it for him already. They said they would do Friday but nothing doing for shabbos.

'm wondering if any of the inventory belongs to travel consildators that are reselling it? I would call and ask the hotel manager.
Also try to find out when the cancellation deadline is, I'm sure many people will cancel at the last minute.

spg.com showing available and then disappeared! i called on phone and they said there is availability at the resort for both nights FOR PLATINUM only. at a rate of around 140/night. Any help from a plat member - before this goes away again - would be greatly appreciated!

I've never heard of a Platinum rate (besides for the guaranteed availability rack rate) and neither did the rep I spoke to.
