Im looking for a good pair. Has anyone done research? Bought one of these recently?

As far as commercially produced, affordable headphones go, Bose QC 15's are awesome!

BTW, this topic has been discussed before. If you search (top right) you should come up with some more posts (that QC 15's are the way to go...

The QC15s are awesome, but just realize that they are made to cancel out constant noises (like the drone of a jet engine) and not so much to cancel out voices.

They're still wonderful and just as important they're comfortable enough to have on while you sleep or during a 15 hour flight.

Apparently for safety reasons they don't cancel out the rest.

ive had the qc3's and the qc15's and i think theyre pretty much the same noise cancelling wise

QC15 has more passive noise cancellation than QC3 (although it may have less active noise cancellation, which makes them balance out) and are more comfortable (due to less active noise cancellation and their surround-the-ear design as opposed to on-the-ear design) IMHO.

Ive had both in my hands at the same time.

some people think that on ear is more comfortable. to each his own

And without headphones its even more comfy, except the noise cancelling is way better on the QC15.

I have the Bose IE2, I don't believe they're noise cancelling.
I'd say the two things which stand out about them are, for ear buds, they've got to be of the most comfortable. And I've had them for a year now and they are still like new. I've never had a pair of ear buds last that long without one ear losing sound.

I have had the same pair of Panasonic ear buds for over 3 years now and I use them everyday.

If you find NIB QC15s for less than that they're probably counterfeit.

I've tested with airplane noise, the QC15 and QC3, alternating between the 2.

The QC3 is a little lighter, and maybe more comfortable to wear, but concerning noise cancellation, there is no comparison whatsoever.
