Its easy to make a new card with a magnetic strip.

Just got a brand new cc in the mail today when I tried swiping it didn't work. Chase said they canceled the card because of fraud and they already sent me a new one.
how do they get the numbers?

You probably got skimmed.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

They got mine and the card wasn't being used at all. Wasn't even in my pocket.

They told me that the mamzerim dont have any of my personal info...all the other information such as address or CVV code were incorrect. The rep said that alot of times they use software that runs numbers until they get one that works and when they find one they run with it.

My wife had 5 fraudulent charges this morning on here (new) Sapphire card (she got approved for it less then 2 months ago).
They were asking her questions like I've never heard before.
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

You gotta hear this. If you recall I mentione that a number of my SPG AMEX cards had fraud on them and I got them all replaced. Anyway, many of the charges (besides walmart, etc.) were to the post office. Last week I get a big envelope, and my wife gets one too, from the post office. Inside were other envelopes that were to be mailed out with our names on it to various people with thousands of dollars of checks in them! The post office figured it was probably a fraud and sent it all to me (because the prepaid postage was bought on a different day then they were sent out). Anyway, they said I should call, which I did. I left a message but nobody ever got back to me. I don't know why they're not on top of this thing like crazy. Still waiting for their phone call. I can't even figure out what this is all about. Whatever it is, it's scary.

My girlfriend kept getting $1 USPS charges on her SPG, so Amex cancelled it and sent her a new one. Then she got a $1 USPS on her Sapphire and then a big fraud charge two days later. No idea how they got her.

Hmmm, the $1 are probably USPS NCOA (address forwarding/changes) charges that the USPS uses to confirm you're "legit" (you have a CC billed to the from or to address). The fraudsters are probably using this to make sure they have the right address for when they initiate the bigger purchases...

Well nothing so far since Chase and Amex shut down her cards and sent new ones.

Can the thieves do anything more to her?

Can you really do this? Say take a real debit card and change the mag strip to read that of a real GC?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

How often do you have fraudulent activity on your credit cards?  Depends on how often you find opportunities to commit fraud! lol :)

How else do you return items on a debit card to stores that require the same CC?

In the past month I had five credit cards where there was fraud with big charges on them.
Anyone know how they are getting all my credit card numbers?
Each credit is used for different things and do not have any connection to each other.

I had it recently. Pretty sure it was a local gas station where the rep took the card into a booth and was a bit too long. Has anyone else had this experience?
