I've had it happen twice in the last six months.  The first time was on my wife's AA Citi Executive Card. The only charges on that card were manufactured spend and a couple of Groupon transactions.  The thief racked up $3K in charges at Nordstrom's in two days and Citi was cool with it.  I noticed it and had to call them to report the fraud. The second time someone tried to make a three dollar charge at a hotel in Seattle on my Ink card.  Chase caught it flagged it and called me.  I was impressed.

I had my brother try to order jerseys on my CSP from one of these Chinese Jersey sites. When he Completed the order and reached The checkout page It had this really unprofessional looking plain box with credit card and expiration date fields looking like the whole thing had been devised in Microsoft Word or something, I nearly booked right there but my brother convinced me to go through with it. Basically chase kept sending me fraud alerts and denying the charge for the department store in Hong Kong and wouldn't work even after 5 verifys. We give up.
Two days later 1.5k total in airfare, Internet Security software and wedding planner businesses showed up (not me for those at home reading this). B"h chase didn't ask me how they think they got my CC info.

Looks like the hackers are ramping up their game, I got a "call from bofa" stating that my cc is being deactivated ,"pls press 1 to reactivate" after that I was prompted to key in my cc info, by that time I hung up. When I called the number back I reached a voicemail in which some guy(the hacker?) stated that his number was hacked,
I figured I'd be nice and call bofa to let them know, of course they didn't care.it  is pretty scary that they had my name knew i had a bofa cc(?) as well as my number

Well was it purchased in your CT account? That would at least answer that question.

Just had over 5k spent at Orbitz. And this was my only card that I never really use. Biz plat - bonus and sock drawer besides offers. Why would someone do that? Isn't that the easiest to get caught?

Could be a travel agent booking for unsuspecting costumers. When else can you spend so much online without having to provide a shipping address.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

The ticket probably got cancelled when you disputed the charge, so he probably wasn't on the flight anyways.

Once or twice a year, especially from Black Friday through New Years.

Two cards were just frauded with numerous (denied, B'H) charges.

Tipoffs to fraud (all of which happened to me):
1.  A $1 test charge (not at a gas station).
2.  The address, phone or PIN not matching the bank's records
3.  A POS location that is out of your local charge area
4.  A type of business that is not normal to your charge pattern
5.  A request for an address change
6.  a small charge for a few dollars that is later reversed

Annoying fraud triggers that we do:
1.  Multiple similar charges at the same establishment in succession
2.  Large charges out of our spending pattern
3.  Large charges in the beginning of a new CC
4.  Charges made while traveling (even after advising bank of our travel location/dates)

Buying muni meter tickets seems to be a trigger. Chase often freezes me for it.

Are you buying multiple tickets, ie in succession? (see above)
