Have 9-10 Shopping bags and then 2 about two garbage bags filled with paper.

Any ideas what I can do ?
Besides for bleaching it and burning it as I'm looking for something realistic and will work.
Any places or machines to rent to use it to go to shred? Thanks guys for any ideas!

Or giving it in, but would want them to shred it on the spot as I wouldn't trust it with them without having it shred.

You can bring to staples, they charge per pound. Depending on how much you have, it might be cheaper to just get your own basic shredder. (and there's the convenience factor).

I've been happy with this one:

AmazonBasics 6-Sheet Cross-Cut Paper and Credit Card Home Office Shredder ($29.74)

Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

That's another factor, don't have much room to host one of these big thingies, would keep it at home.
And the 6 Papers at a time is a killer.

Something like this is what I would want, but what a clunker to have around.
Maybe Staples would be the option.
Or for that price just buy a shredder.

Deal, when's a good time? Will buy the machine and she can come over and enjoy herself.
Can even give her a lunch if she's there throughout the day.

Companies like Iron Mountain do this, though I'm not sure if they'll do one-time customers or if they want long-term contract. I think there are also smaller companies that do it, probably for cheaper and on a one-time basis.

If you're gonna buy a shredder and do it yourself, are all your papers roughly in stacks? If they're not and they're really crumpled in bags it might be very time consuming to shred them yourself....

I think @Luvisrael was saying that she can accomplish the task without a machine. 3 year olds have superpowers like that.

All my papers are nicely stacked in bags.

What size garbage cans do you have if you call this a clunker?

How about a nice fire? We do it every year.

I tried that once, I found that it also took a very long time. If I put a big pile of paper it put out the fire and to do just a few sheets at a time....

Yes, I could've made a bigger fire but I didn't want to attract that much attention and I didn't want to risk it either.
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

You need to do it on a Saturday night with pizza and beer. You just need to poke the big plies once every so often or the middle will never burn.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Anytime. The best ones are when we light last years Christmas trees on fire. Takes a couple of seconds and it is gone. You want to talk about some intense heat!!!

a home shredder like that will probably overheat if you feed the 9 shopping bags in straight (even 5 sheets at a time)
what they are better for is shredding the stuff as it comes in (5-10-20 sheets a day-week) and not getting to 9 shopping bags. but for that you need a space to store it. (and plug/unplug each time you use, if there's kids around)
staples may not be cheapest, but may be most convenient...

are these prices accurate?

if you keep your papers stacked neatly I don't think it's so crazy to pull out and plug in the shredder once a month or so, and spend 1/2 hour shredding while doing something else (but good luck having a conversation, they are pretty noisy)
