They got banned from filming without a permit, because of their video on Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park.
For those that watch Kara and Nate, they were reported and fined for filming commercially in national parks. I was looking forward to their national park travels.
Is what they do considered commercial?
Apparently so. They said, "they used our incoming expense reports... to show that we were making money from our channel." I'm not sure what the threshold is for YouTube earnings for it to be considered commercial.
Why do they publish those?
A CUA is required if you provide any goods, activities, services, agreements, or other function for members, clients, or the public that: take place at least in part on lands managed by the National Park Service, use park resources, and. result in compensation, monetary gain, benefit, or profit
and the same people reported them to the FAA so no drone flying... because commercial drone shots need a licenseif it applies to them why wouldn't apply to Fishy, Dan and every youtuber seems like a major overreach by the govt
Don't think it's overreach, it's just enforcement of laws that were crafted in a different era and no longer make sense. Once they are informed of the violation they need to enforce, but the laws gotta change fast.
If you mean that they shouldn't need to have any sort of CUA or pay anything, I'm not sure I agree. They themselves said it's not about the money, but about the process stifling their ability to effectively make videos in NP's. So maybe the process needs to change.
clearly they have Fishy's rovs psak to cover the wheels for shabbos
blech type?
