i never understood the gadlus of them...all my east coast friends would swear by them...i just prefer macys...if u have a macys card u get great coupons every few months and coupled w/ their sales their prices are hard to beat

I think even with coupons and sales Filene's, Daffy's, and Marshall's sometimes have better deals IME.

im privileged to live on the west coast ...in the past two years ive picked up 4 suits w/ a sticker price well north of $450-500 for about $100 each

I once got a $900 suit at Macy's Beverly Center/LA for ~$69 after promos and coupons.  Great store.

Unfortunately (AFAIK) this doesn't work @ Macy's in NYC (or anywhere nearby).

You mean Alfani or Calvin Klien

IME Burberry and Canali are not very common in Syms (Battery Park). However, Hugo Boss is more likely.
