Seems fedex has a boatload of HP laptops.
Seeing lots of people picking them up and lots being brought back from the trucks! 😉

Got mine today. Disappointing as isn't faster than my current HP EliteBook i5 which i bought 2 years ago. Still takes 10-15 seconds to calculate large Excel files which is extremely slow when constantly updating. I don't see the benefit of this at all. I feel like i got caught up in the i7 hype that everyone was rushing to get. Oh well I can always sell it.

Always going to have lots of updates on day 1. What gen is your i5?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

My processor is i5-4300U I think that's 4th Gen. Wouldn't 10th gen be miles ahead?
What do you mean by updates? Will it get faster?

I found that since Windows forces the updates, it is done in the background, and Data speeds drop drastically as all is going to the background download... And same goes to the processing.
I might be wrong, on the processing part, but almost positive on the data.
Windows Home, of course.

Windows will use the CPU, RAM, hard drive and network to do updates.
Best thing when getting a new computer is running updates a few times or till where you want it to run. Second option (and only for desperate measures) is stopping it till you have time for it.

only has 8gb of ram and 128gb ssd
Not a bad thing for most people, especially the 8gb ram. 128gb SSD is tight, but lot of people can make it work.

On one of my laptop's the plastic bezel that goes around the screen was popping up seems like something stuck under it so I contacted HP to see what can be done the only option they gave to me was to return the device.
I told them I wouldn't want to do that as I would lose out on my Chase Ink offer of $186 shall I return an item from that offer.
they told me there's nothing to do except they can offer me a price match to the same price as my original purchase and a $60 off additional.
Is there more that I can do or should I just settle with that and swallow the few dollar loss?
or live with the broken laptop being at the screen is popping up a bit which doesn't really bother me but in a way it's a defective laptop. meeting the screen is nothing wrong with it there's a plastic that goes around the screen which seems something got in between which is causing it to be popping up a bit.
 What's your guys take?

Why dont you just ask for a replacement not a return.
HUCA?
IIRC years ago I did it with a item got the new one before I sent the original.

rep after rep said there's no such thing as replacement how it works is you return the item and then they'll send that a new one and recharge card.
