Travel Router With Worldwide SIM Support + Ethernet
« on: December 03, 2019, 01:54:20 PM »
I'm looking for a travel router that serves dual purposes:

1) Can use a sim card to create the hotspot and works with international bands
2) can use Ethernet to create a hotspot

This looks like something that I'm looking for however it says supports US networks only

you asked for 2 things
1) Can use a sim card to create the hotspot and works with international bands
2) can use Ethernet to create a hotspot
that could take care of one

Could you use an unlocked phone with a Ethernet dongle? When traveling I have a Nexus 6 with Foxfi usb tethering.

Sounds pretty close, from amazon answers it looks like the Ethernet COULD be used the other way around verifying now.
In terms of compatibility it looks like the following LTE bands are missing:

B9 - In use by NTT Docomo and softbank in Japan
B13 - In use by verizon, Straight Talk in US and telus in Canada +some south american carriers
B17 - In use by AT&T, Cricket, H20 in US and fido, rogers, videotron in Canada +some south american carriers
B20 - In use by over 98 mostly european carriers
B25,B26 - In use by Sprint, Boost, Fi in US
B28 - In use by some carriers in France, Taiwan, Australia, Panama and more
B38 - In use by some carriers in Poland, Romania, Sweden and China
B41 - In use by Sprint, Boost, Fi in US and a few carriers in both China and Japan
B71 - In use by MetroPCS, Mint Mobile, T-Mobile In US

There are different versions of the device, some are att branded so work better in USA and others are foreign branded and unlocked. If your going abroad then obviously dont buy the att one.

Not true. The AT&T branded Netgear has enough bands to support 99.9 percent of your travels with 4G and 3G EVERYWHERE.
