You think you hate voice notes?! I use whatsapp web as I sit in front of a computer all day. I use wireless headphones connected to my phone, which play background music all day. I only look at my phone occasionally throughout the day, as I answer calls via the headphones, and most other alerts I get, come in via my computer. But, every gosh darn tootn' time someone sends me a blasted voice note, I need to stop what I'm doing, pick up my phone, and listen to it, instead of just glancing at the desktop notification. And of course the second I put the phone down, plug it in, and get back to what I'm doing on my computer, the cursed individual sends another damn voice note! I honestly started ignoring them. /rant!

Connect the wireless headphones to your computer?

-1

Apple and Android have pretty good voice keyboards, it should be the sender's responsibility. Whatsapp should add an option to block voice notes.

I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Long ago I have been telling those who send voice notes that I won't be able to listen and that I will only know what they are trying to tell me if they send it as text.

maybe but I have no interest in everyone around me hearing you be more personal and human nor do I want to have to listen 4 times to get that unclear sentence you said.

Most Hasids can't type English properly, so they adopted the super annoying lifestyle of endless voice notes.

This is gonna be fun to watch

+1. Either connect the headphones to your computer and play both the music and the voice notes from there, or leave them connected to the phone, but use an app like Vysor to allow you to control the phone from your desktop (ie play the voice note through the phone via the computer).

I may end up doing that. It's just that it isn't so easy to switch between the phone and computer, and I use them with the phone the rest of the day. Also, I do occasionally check sites like facebook, Instagram etc that have videos, and want to be able to hear through the headphones. The app you mentioned sounds like it may be a good solution. I'll look into that.

I used to have a splitter with a switch, it was pretty cool. I had my phone and my computer plugged into a splitter, and it had a little switch so I could jump back and forth between phone calls and music/skype/whatever on the computer.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

I was planning on making something like that before I found this splitter that I'm using now, but I really don't need it. I just pause/mute the computer or phone as necessary. I haven't found a need for a hardware switch.

Since when has "finding a need" ever been a factor for any guy in history to spend endless hours building some sort of nifty (read: useless) gadget?
