Asia Miles revises miles expiration policy
« on: December 10, 2019, 08:40:20 AM »
"For 20 years, we have been developing inspiring travel and lifestyle rewards and experiences for you. We also understand that when it comes to living a Life Rewarded, every Mile counts. That’s why we’re making your Miles as timeless as the experiences and memories you create with us.Starting from 1 ‍January‍ 2020, your newly earned Miles will no longer expire three years after being credited to your account. So long as you earn or use your Miles at least once every 18 months, your Miles will remain active*. With the new arrangement, you will have more control of your Miles and enjoy the best choices, however, wherever and whenever you use them."

@dan time to update some old posts.

This benefits people who have Asia miles racked up for whatever reason, but doesn't really matter much for people who transfer when they need, as the time to use the points is now shorter.

It actually doesn’t benefit people who have miles racked up. The new policy only applies to miles earned after 1/1/20

There is a line about paying $40 to convert miles from time-based to activity-based, but unclear if it is $40 flat, or $40-per'000 (I would assume the former, but you never know)

Per 1K.
But you can extend them forever by redepositing an award after clearing out your points.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

with regards to canceling (and redepositing) an award ticket, does Asiamiles offer free cancelation within 24 hours of doing a booking, or does the $1x0 fee apply from the moment of booking? if no free cxl < 24hrs, is there a recommended wait period before canceling? sorry for all the questions!
