Depends what is important to you but you can't beat TD's hours and they have a free student checking account if you are eligible.

Depends if you actually need to see a teller.
I can't remember the last time I actually had to go into a bank, so hours don't really make a difference to me.

Actually I can...it was before the coins ended :P

@Dan what are the exclusive benefits that chase has ? and is their free checking really free? (how about a master thread of banks and their fees..?)
@bubbles is their student account the only free checking they offer ? if I'm a student but my wife works can we open a joint student account ?
thanks

If you have certain chase cc's you get bonus points for having a checking account. Both chase and td have free student accounts which can be opened jointly with your wife. Both also have free accounts as long as you meet certain requirements (either min balance or transactions)

I know there has been some discussion of this in the Lakewood thread, but I think this is the correct place for it.
I've been banking (personal & business) at TD, and everything was fine. All of the sudden, I got a letter that they are closing all my accounts. No explanation. Branch manager was clueless and unhelpful. Waiting for a call back from the 800 #.
Meanwhile, has this happened to you? Any idea what this is about? I didn't do anything remotely shady.
Also, any thoughts/experiences about where to open up now? It seems that there is loshon hara about every bank that I read about.
Thanks.

I received the same exact letter yesterday!

I've been with TD for 5+ years and carry fairly large balances.
Common sense...isn't so common.

Same, they said it's in the agreement that they can close without a reason.  Thankfully I don't use it tons, but still...
