You gotta do the math and see if it works. 25k Delta is worth about 1.1 + $275. I myself bought something which is worth it for me. It's definitely possible to turn a profit here.

It gotta be worth ur time and the hassle selling... and add the loss + if ur selling a $500 item on ebay the fees will be about $60 (ebay+paypal)

IIRC, they had some wording in the T&C's of the promo about returned merchandise, but I highly doubt that they would actually take the miles back.
In any case, the promo is over.
