General question about all DAF. I assume they invest the funds and they make money off the float, is that correct? Are they regulated as to what they’re allowed to invest in? How do I know they aren’t investing in some high risk investments?
Trying to make sense of the last few pages... does OJC allow funding via CC thru PPGF? Understand that there may be a lag for the funds to be available... Did I miss something?
Anyone here know the answer to this?Appears TDF does not permit PPGF via CC... Not sure about OJC. Anyone with recent personal experience?
Appears TDF does not permit PPGF via CC.
Where do you see that? Has worked for me in the past with the usual delays. 12 days or so
Assuming you’re all referring to OJC?
PP works with Pledger, a few days delayed (too late for 2024)
Does anyone know the key differences between The Donors Fund, OJC, and Pledger? I’m trying to figure out how they compare.
If you have any brokerage accounts with appreciated assets you should consider that brokerage's DAF - I know for sure that Schwab, Fidelity and Vanguard all have them. I use Schwab, and they make the donation process super-easy, and considering this is a much-overlooked super-advantage of DAFs, it should be a strong consideration.
How easy is it? You can transfer from anywhere to anywhere, but I know within Schwab it's just a few clicks, and they make it easy to even check which shares have appreciated the most.
