General question about all DAF.
I assume they invest the funds and they make money off the float, is that correct?
Are they regulated as to what they’re allowed to invest in? How do I know they aren’t investing in some high risk investments?
they make money off of the .5%-1.0% fee on average balance in the account
IINM all investment choices, gains and losses are borne by the accountholder

I’m asking when you just have funds sitting there, not being invested by the account holder.
Is the DAF investing the float in a money market account? Treasuries? Bitcoin? Nursing Home?

Trying to make sense of the last few pages... does OJC allow funding via CC thru PPGF?  Understand that there may be a lag for the funds to be available...

Did I miss something?

Anyone here know the answer to this?

Appears TDF does not permit PPGF via CC... Not sure about OJC.  Anyone with recent personal experience?

Where do you see that? Has worked for me in the past with the usual delays. 12 days or so

Assuming you’re all referring to OJC?

Even if tdf says they don't do it, they do. They just don't like it. I usually message them after I send and then again a few weeks later if it wasn't added

PP works with Pledger, a few days delayed (too late for 2024)

Your donation date is the day you swipe at ppgf so you're still fine for 24

Does anyone know the key differences between The Donors Fund, OJC, and Pledger? I’m trying to figure out how they compare.

I find TDF to be the only platform with an option to donate without any fees.

If you have any brokerage accounts with appreciated assets you should consider that brokerage's DAF - I know for sure that Schwab, Fidelity and Vanguard all have them. I use Schwab, and they make the donation process super-easy, and considering this is a much-overlooked super-advantage of DAFs, it should be a strong consideration.

I've transferred appreciated  shares from fidelity into TDF

How easy is it? You can transfer from anywhere to anywhere, but I know within Schwab it's just a few clicks, and they make it easy to even check which shares have appreciated the most.

I've only done fidelity to TDF. It's an easy phone call (just need a rep who understands to transfer the lowest basis shares first). TDF has their brokerage account with fidelity so maybe that's why it was easy.

Interesting. I do like being able to check the appreciation myself, rather than hoping to get a good rep :-)

100% this is the exact reason why I use fidelity. Its a 2 second process. This is the main reason why I have a DAF in the first place. It is a bit annoying that a lot of the online campaigns dont offer fidelity as a payment option. I actually reached out to charidy.com, they said its on the individual campaign to choose. Odd that people dont elect to add it (maybe higher fees, dunno).
